Henna, toxic or not?

Henna is the result of drying and grinding leaves. Then you have to bind it with water. This plant is several hundred years old and is very famous in the Maghreb. A question arises, is it toxic?

The benefits of henna

There are many of them, and Imam Ibn Al Qayyim Al-Jawziya related some of them in one of his works called L'Authentique de la Médecine Prophétique translated into French. It can be the second cause in order to treat you from injuries caused by fire or any other source that would have resulted in a burn. For children, it also helps treat sore mouths if it is chewed. It can also be used to perfume clothes or the like.

But as you probably know, it is mostly used for hair care. It helps to strengthen them but also to embellish them. Also use it against abscesses. Many benefits which have not all been mentioned because the list is extremely long.

So, is henna poisonous?

Not at all ! It is 100% natural and you can even use it after so-called "chemical" coloring. Henna itself is therefore not toxic. However, be careful about how you use it because it can become so. Henna being sometimes cut with other components becomes toxic; it can lead to hair loss and severe irritation.

So before you jump headlong into buying your henna, take the necessary precautions so you don't end up without hair. Just look at the ingredients and only take organic henna which is 100% made from our famous plant. This one will certainly be a little more expensive, but the price is largely justified by the quality.
