The different types of teas

We often hear different names for tea: green tea, red tea, black tea and many more. Each color corresponds to a type of tea. All these teas are obtained by the secondary cause of one and the same plant: the tea tree. The tea will be different depending on the transformations and the work done on the plant.

Teas with colorful names

There are in everything and for everything 3. Here they are:

+ Green tea: These are teas that are not fermented. They are worked in such a way that they do not undergo fermentation. The work consists of 3 essential phases: roasting, rolling and drying.

+ Black tea: It is worked until fermentation. This time around, the process consists of three stages: withering, rolling, fermentation, roasting and finally sorting.

Other types of teas

And here are the other types of teas that have names reminiscent of where they come from:

+ Oolong tea: Another tea from China but also from Taiwan, also called blue or blue-green tea. Its preparation is stopped during fermentation, the leaves used are more ripe.

+ Rooibos: It's South Africa's national drink. Its virtues are also very numerous, such as the fight against cellular aging.

+ Smoked teas: Smoked teas are black teas, in which Fujian is the specialist.
